While we do our best to maintain the lore and stories set forth by Blizzard, we do not adhere strictly to it.

The High Warlock Council was formed before The Alliance or The Horde ever existed. The lands were feudal in nature; there were hundreds of fiefdoms struggling for existence on Azeroth, each staking a claim to certain territories.

As certain classes became more powerful, several of these got together and formed an uneasy truce. The true believers in the Light sat side-by-side with Shadow magicians. They talked and argued for years, always in respectful tones, about the Balance having to be maintained between Light and Shadow. Groups of Paladins, together with groups of Warlocks, secretly formed a pact. This pact would forever change the interactions of many races and classes.

It was determined by the Warlocks that a form of government was needed within their own ranks, lest the Warlocks become too powerful and upset the Balance.

The High Warlock Council was formed.
